SDA is a group of seventy-five medical doctors (anesthesiologists). Members of our group have been serving the anesthesia needs of the south-metro area since 1970; specifically at Swedish Medical Center, Sky Ridge Medical Center, Porter Adventist Hospital, and Littleton Adventist Hospital. Over the years we have built a strong pediatric anesthesia program by recruiting physicians who have special interest, training, and experience in providing anesthesia care to children. All of the physicians on our pediatric team are board certified/eligible in anesthesiology. Some are also board certified in pediatrics, pediatric surgery, internal medicine, or have advanced training in pediatric anesthesiology. This level of commitment is seldom obtained by a community hospital.
Our ability to communicate "in person" during the traditional preoperative visit has changed over recent years. This primarily due to insurance companies requiring that patients be admitted to the hospital on the same day of their surgery. Therefore, we make it a policy to try to contact our patients, or their parents, by telephone the night before surgery. This allows us to become familiar with your child's medical condition and to discuss any concerns you may have regarding your child's anesthesia care.
